Industrial Electronic Supply, Inc. (IES) got its start in Shreveport, Louisiana, as a wholesale distributor of radio, television, and broadcast repair parts.

However, it wasn't long until we started stocking more of the electronic products being requested by many of the industrial customers in the area.

Then, as mass-produced products began emerging, the need for radio, television, and broadcast repair parts began to fade.  This is when IES transitioned to providing products for our growing industrial customer base.

During this time, IES began developing relationships with suppliers and stocking even more of the leading brands among electronic and electrical product lines necessary to support local industry.

Soon, however, IES had to start expanding our market area in order to meet increasing demand.

In addition to offering traditional MRO products, by the late 1970s, IES made a major commitment not only to marketing computerized and high-tech products but also to providing technical application assistance and training to ensure successful implementation and customer use.

In the early 1980s, IES officially began opening additional branch locations to better serve our customers across a five state area - as detailed by the timeline posted here.

By the late 1980s, IES started developing and implementing new systems and internal processes, software, and hardware to improve our ability to meet our customer’s needs.

IES became a Siemens distributor and furthered our commitment to marketing and supporting automation, drives, and controls.

IES continues to increase the number of engineers and application specialists we staff to provide you with the customer service and technical expertise necessary to support today’s technology.

As we move forward, IES is continuing to optimize and add new branch locations (highlighted in the timeline), as well as the skilled personnel and innovative products and technologies essential to supporting your manufacturing, processing, institutional, and commercial operations.
