This enables the user to configure the data required for his application from more than 200 different electrical measured and energy values, thus acquiring transparency of the energy requirement for individual components of his production plant. The SIMATIC ET 200SP distributed I/O system includes an extensive range of diverse components. Motor starters play a key role in this regard and are an integral component of this I/O system.

They are available in standard and safety versions and provide reliable protection for 1-phase and 3-phase motors against overload and short circuit. With an installation width of only 30 mm, the motor starters are compact and deliver high-performance with four setting ranges up to 5.5 kW.

 

The ET 200SP motor starters can be operated with highly efficient IE3/IE4 motors and are suited, for example, for 1-phase motors in pump applications or for 3-phase motors as secondary drives in conveyor technology. In addition to many other applications, they can also be used to safely isolate the drive from the main network.

Effortless control of lighting with SIMATIC ET 200 DALI

With its CM 1 x DALI electronic module, the SIMATIC ET 200SP IO system now offers the possibility of controlling lighting applications directly from the SIMATIC user program by way of the DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) lighting control bus. This enables straightforward and low-cost integration of lighting controls in automation engineering.

Up to 64 lamps and 63 sensors can be connected for each module, however, multiple DALI modules can be inserted in each ET 200SP station as required. Lighting scenarios can be established almost arbitrarily in linear, star or tree topologies, with simple wiring comprising a 2-wire line protected against polarity reversal. A DALI bus power supply providing up to 160 mA is also integrated in the module.

Space-saving and high-precision SIWAREX WP351 weighing module

Producing precise mixtures and meticulous filling, checking, or dosing – the SIWAREX WP351 can guarantee all this and more. With a mere 20 mm in width and 65 mm in height, this is one of the smallest electronic weighing systems on the market. Intelligent firmware and numerous dosing algorithms ensure maximum precision and simultaneously relieve the control. The sampling rate of 1000 Hz and a response time of < 1 ms ensure the utmost accuracy and repeatability for the actuation of dosing elements. A module-internal web server can be used for commissioning and service, with additional assistance provided by a sample application and a software function block.

The SIWAREX WP351 is integrated in the SIMATIC ET 200SP IO system and can therefore also be connected to other controllers.

Potential applications could include automatic filling and check weighers with calibration capability or even platform scales and container weighing machines.

Energy and power consumption metering with the Simatic ET 200SP Energy Meter

The energy meter modules from the ET 200SP series are designed for use at the machine level and provide a wide range of possibilities to measure energy and power consumption.

Even the standard modules allow configuration of the necessary data from more than 200 measured values, as well as the execution of energy management. Consumption forecasts can then be compiled from these measured values and the efficiency determined in order to derive conclusions for load management and servicing and ultimately, this can then be applied to optimize the energy consumption of a plant.

The measured values recorded by the Energy Meter can also be used for condition-monitoring tasks such as detecting damage to machines and bearings at an early stage.

High-Feature module variants go even further. With these versions, more than 500 measured energy values can be recorded and evaluated, and a dynamic changeover is possible between the "Network analysis" operating modes and the energy meter at runtime without any loss of data.

A new family member for SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE

The SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE F-TM ServoDrive represents a new addition to the SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE family.

The servo drive system comprises the SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE F-TM ServoDrive drive controller module, the SIMATIC ET 200SP, multi-purpose motors, and connecting cables. It supplements the SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE PDC (ProfiDriveControl) and rounds off the drive portfolio with regards to protective extra-low voltage for EC motors from 24 to 48 V. The drive control module enables dynamic and precise positioning in the smallest of installation spaces within the performance range up to 280 W.

 

Straightforward connection to SIMATIC control systems and integration in the automation platform reduce the engineering time and facilitates commissioning and servicing.
