The AX/KX line of compact and small industrial enclosures feature modular design, improved cut-outs, easier installation, and perfect integration into state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.
Designed to meet Industry 4.0 and automated machining criteria, Rittal engineered these easy to install enclosures for:
- Digitalization
- Fewer parts
- Ease of assembly
- Safe mounting
- Flexibility
The new AX line of industrial enclosures is changing the game for companies across a variety of industries and markets
In 1961, Rittal was the first company in the world to series-produce enclosures, starting with the compact enclosure AE. Now, with millions of units in use and the world’s largest modular system of industrial enclosures, Rittal introduces the latest generation with the AX, designed for Industry 4.0.
KX SMALL ENCLOSURES
KX small enclosures from 150 mm x 150 mm x 80 mm are suitable if only a few components are to be housed in terminal boxes and bus enclosures.
Consistent use of self-centering mini cam locks that can be installed without needing tools increases the level of precision and the size of the access opening.
Compact and small enclosures46Simplified machining boosts efficiency, thanks to the door being supplied loose and tool-free cam lock installation.
A lid that incorporates a viewing window and opens up to an angle of 180° provides easier access and a better overview of all control components.
Accessory components that are perfectly coordinated with the enclosures offer more possibilities and significant savings.
AX COMPACT ENCLOSURES
AX compact enclosures are available with depths between 120 mm and 400mm, and in a maximum size of 1,000 mm x 1,400 mm.
Customized interior installation without machining and a wall-mounting system that is revolutionary in its simplicity save even more time.
In conjunction with the Rittal support arm system, the integrated support arm connection always ensures the correct viewing angle and is therefore more ergonomic.
Maintaining all relevant approvals when installing type-tested system accessories such as wall mounting brackets and gland plates improves reliability.
Thanks to having seven times greater UV resistance – confirmed by an F1 rating to UL 746C – alongside further benefits such as an integrated drip shield to protect against rain and stable stainless steel hinges, the AX fiberglass enclosure series is purpose-built for outdoor applications and can be used in even the toughest environments. Ideal applications for the AX fiberglass include:
Maritime
Extreme ambient conditions place particular demands on the material and surface properties of an enclosure. The AX fiberglass enclosure offers corrosion protection and is resistant to UV radiation, salt, and salty air. Wastewater management
Especially in this field, enclosures are exposed to various damaging influences, for example aggressive vapours which can attack the material. The fiberglass enclosure offers optimum protection as against wind, weather, and UV radiation. Railway technology
Thanks to its robust material and stable construction, the fiberglass enclosure withstands aggressive environments, dampness, and all arising pressure/suction forces. Airports
The fiberglass enclosure withstands UV radiation, rain, snow, and storms and offers protection against flying debris such as tire wear particles.
Both AX and KX products are designed to be simple, space-saving, and durable. AX enclosures in particular feature 30% more space for cables in 30% less assembly time. EPLAN users will find that the software includes 3D models of the AX and KX to make designing and engineering with these enclosures easy.
STREAMLINED – Fewer parts makes engineering easier.
FLEXIBLE – Modular designs and optimized cut-outs and sizes help to better utilize the space inside the enclosure.
FAST – Quick delivery and permanent availability.
SAFE – New protection classes and approvals improve reliability.
Whether your application is for food and beverage plants, logistics facilities, automotive manufacturing, or other industries, AX and KX enclosures are safe, reliable, and durable solutions for a variety of applications.
