When operating machinery, having the device which controls operation in close proximity of the machine maximizes productivity and response times.
Fortress configurable operator controls can be customized with safe and standard I/O to provide all the functionality required for a task in one easy-to-install device.
Completely Customizable
Both the Fortress tGard and amGardpro ranges give you the possibility to include a variety of elements to meet your application requirements.
What is tGard? A compact metal bodied range of interlocks and electrical operator controls. Designed, tested and third-party certified for use up to PLd/Cat. 3 or SIL 2, tGard products come in a 40mm metal housing and are suitable for a variety of manufacturing and industrial automation applications. Configurable at purchase, tGard solutions can be quickly selected from a wide range of elements to meet your application requirements. Fortress offers ergonomic actuator and handle options alongside escape release elements and trapped keys. Whether part of a configurable interlock solution (with or without guard locking) or as a standalone control station, tGard also includes:
What is amGardpro? A completely configurable safety solution designed to meet the exact requirements of your application. Designed, tested and third-party certified for use up to PLe/Cat. 4 or SIL 3. Suitable for a wide range of industries where safety and risk management are paramount, including but not limited to: Pushbutton controls and trapped key options can all be combined into a single unit, providing a cost-efficient solution. Network connectivity is made possible with proNet, the add-on module developed by Fortress that allows amGardpro to communicate with the main industrial network protocols: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and EtherCAT.
Hardwired and Networked
With different body types available, tGard can accommodate up to 10 elements.
amGardpro networked devices can be designed with any combination of control elements, including RFID readers, and support up to 40 standard I/O (depending on the type of network protocol).
Enabling Communication with Industrial Network Protocols What is proNet? A network communication module developed by Fortress that allows amGardpro to communicate with the main industrial network protocols: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and EtherCAT. A proNet option pod can be configured as part of an amGardpro interlock, but also as standalone control station and connected to external devices. Standard and safety I/O are communicated through a chosen protocol via a cable connected to the Fortress proNet device. Safety I/O is exchanged using PROFIsafe, CIP safety, or Safety over EtherCAT.
Managing access control permissions Meet FRANK! Fortress RFID Access Network Keys (FRANK) Ensuring only the right people are carrying out the right tasks is a crucial part of safeguarding machinery. Enforcing personnel authentication and permissions as part of controlling access helps reduce risk and contributes to maximizing productivity. The integration of FRANK into automation systems using industrial networks enables the management of access control permissions. Using the employees’ existing RFID cards, FRANK allows the assignment of employee permissions, which can then be used to enforce conditions for machine operation or access.
Simple installation
From the customers perspective, convenience is also a valued important feature of operator controls.
With Fortress you can create solutions which provide significant cost savings on installation, wiring and validation.
