The Interlock Blocking (IBL) Device designed by Fortress is a retrofittable safety key for whole body access to equipment through machine guarding. It is mechanical only and simply blocks the door from opening or closing without the procedure being followed.
Unlike a forced extracted safety key, the IBL offering provides this functionality without needing to make changes to safety switches provided on existing equipment.
Whole Body Access in machinery safety is a serious issue. Situations where operators may be trapped inside a safeguarded space when a machine restarts is a real and critical risk.
Fortress is known for it's trapped key systems and providing safety or personnel keys to protect operators entering safeguarded spaces, but now we have an addition to our range that can be retrofitted to a gate using any interlock switch.
