The World’s First 10" 5G Android Tablet for Hazardous Areas

If your office is out in the field and located in hazardous areas around the plant—your tablet needs to be easy to use, have a large screen, and be safe for use in these areas.

Pepperl+Fuchs recently announced the release of the new 10-inch Android tablet, the Tab-Ex 04 Pro series, and for Division 2 applications, the Tab-Ex 04 Pro D2.

The new tablet is offered as a Wi-Fi only or as a LTE/5G connected device, including B48 for private LTE networks in the US. This tablet offers mobile workers the latest technology and is based on Samsung's Tab Active 4 Pro series tablets. The device boasts many superior features such as:

  • 10" 5G Android Tablet for hazardous areasAndroid 13, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SM7325-2-AB processor
  • 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage with microSD card support to 1TB
  • Slim, lightweight, and easily portable

Pair these with Samsung Knox Security, Samsung DeX Mode, and Google Android Enterprise Recommended, and it is clear why the Tab-Ex 04 Pro is the ideal choice when a larger screen is desired or needed.

The new 10” Android tablet features a slim and lightweight design. The practical 10-inch widescreen is made for demanding applications or web-based content and can be operated with gloves and the Samsung S Pen.

Designed for use in temperatures from –20 °C to +50 °C, it is a proven product for industrial and harsh environments and stands for a long-term strategic partnership with Samsung.

With the largest display in its class, it is ideal for viewing and interacting with web-based and augmented reality content and apps, even in hazardous areas.  A Qualcomm processor enables high data throughput and low latency. Sensitive corporate data can be protected by highly secure and dedicated 4G LTE and 5G campus networks.

Via Samsung DeX Mode, the tablet can be quickly and easily connected to a keyboard, mouse, and monitor in the office, transforming the tablet into a practical, user-friendly desktop computer. Charging and data transfer take place via a pogo pin connector.  Google ARCore™ is used to implement important augmented reality applications, such as remote support and training, and tailor-made tools for predictive maintenance.
